Self Care Cheat Sheet
Who are you and why are you here?
You are an adult or teen and you...
  • Know you need to make some changes, but you don't know where to start.
  • Or, you know where to start but the past has shown you that you lack follow-through.
  • Procrastinate
  • Feel like you aren't good enough, like you're a fraud.
  • Are burning out, exhausted, feel like you're on a race to nowhere.
  • You aren't fun any more.
  • Are scared that life is rushing forward and one day you will look back and wonder where it went...
  • Realize that what you have been doing, and trying, is not working.
  • Maybe have a part of you that acknowledges that something that used to help you feel better (food, alcohol & other drugs, shopping, sex, social media, micromanaging your kids, etc) has become a source of self-hatred and shame.

How can I help?

No matter what your crisis or "rock bottom" is, it is a springboard, a jump-off point into your new chapter. But it can be overwhelming, especially if you lack someone to provide guidance and accountability!  I will help you craft a doable plan with SMART goals and structure that works for your lifestyle and personality.  As a result of our work together, you will:
  • Feel more in control of your choices and your life.
  • Be excited to get up in the morning!
  • Appreciate your body and know you are working with it, not against it.
  • Have the confidence to handle life's inevitable ups and downs.
  • Find meaning and purpose in the challenges you have faced.
  • Feel hopeful, content, proactive, and empowered!
  • Be the person, parent, student, creator, athlete, friend, HUMAN that you know you can and want to be!

Individual Coaching
I work with clients by designing a plan that focuses on your needs based on our initial intake meeting, including but not limited to the following. This may include looking at your connection with food, exercise, your social connections, connecting with meaningful work and/or hobbies, cultivating a spiritual connection.

College Students

Obviously you're smart - you did all of the things you needed to do to get into college. Congratulations! But now you are at college and you are wondering what the heck is wrong with you. Maybe you are falling behind in classes, or you are overwhelmed by the amount of work, or you are exhausted from lack of sleep. You don't understand how you went from being a great student, athlete, friend, etc in high school and now you can't stay on top of things. You may be afraid to tell your parents how bad things have gotten, because they have always trusted you and been proud of you. You feel stuck.

Guess what - you aren't alone, and in many ways, it's not really your fault this happening, and the best part is, you can definitely get out of this spiral. I can help you figure out how to climb out of your mess and get back on track, to where you feel in control and purposeful. Together we will come up with a plan that is right for you, with weekly check-ins.  You will understand from what I teach you that where you are today is largely because of your totally normal brain development, and because nobody really taught you some important life and coping skills (the stuff they really should be teaching in middle school and high school!). So this is your chance to learn. I think of a crisis as a great time to "recalculate" the way our GPS does when we take a wrong turn. There is no such thing as failure - it's just a chance to learn what doesn't work, which is really good information to have.

Teens & Young Adults

In private, semi-private and group sessions, participants engage in activities  and discussion that foster real connection, building self-awareness, empowerment, and overall feelings of wellness and hope. Activities may include hiking, running, biking, triathlon, yoga, and creative activities.  Sitting in an office telling someone all your problems can be a drag, but being outside and having fun with someone, or a few people, who know(s) what it's like to have been bullied, to not feeling like you fit in, to not being motivated to make the "right" choices - that can maybe be a less boring way to feel a little better about life, and learn some simple, effective ways to deal with stress.

One-on-one coaching based on your situation and needs can help you figure out things like how to better manage your time, what to do after high school, how to get more motivated to make better choices. Life is so busy and expectations put on you can feel really overwhelming. I can help you slow down what often feels like a race to nowhere.

Retreats

One-day or multi-day reprieves from putting out fires and running on autopilot.  We focus on activities that help us become more connected with the present moment, with nature, with one another, with ourselves. Held in beautiful locations, with physical activities appropriate for all fitness levels (running, walking, yoga, hiking, water activities).  Dates and locations are currently being determined for upcoming retreats, so if this interests you, please send me an email. If you have a group of friends who would like their own retreat, this can also be arranged.

Corporate Events

As stand-alone workshops or as part of corporate wellness events, corporate events are tailored to the hosting workplace and participants' needs.  Clients include non-profit organizations, law practices, mental health and medical health providers, educational staff, entertainment industry professionals, athletic organizations, etc. The purpose is to provide participants with tools to enhance their mental, emotional and physical wellness as they learn simple and effective ways to manage stress, adopt healthy habits, and live more mindfully.  All workplaces benefit from healthy employees who show up and perform at their peak.

Speaking Engagements

As a motivational speaker, Susanne is often hired to address audiences of students, parents, coaches, athletes,  and anyone who is seeking to improve their ability to create change in their lives and the lives of those in their circle of influence.  Previous topics have included Mindful Parenting, From Stressed to Zen, Mindful Teens, Mindful Athletes, Letting Go of Addiction, Self-Care for Busy People, Befriending Change, Moving Through Transitions, Building Resilience, Getting and Staying Motivated, Getting and Staying Fit for Life, and many more.  All talks are entertaining and interactive and participants leave inspired and with actionable tools.

The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.
-Henry David Thoreau
